What makes it different?

This success is due to the fact that it is the only filter in the market capable of combatting the “new tank syndrome”, i.e. it transforms ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, which are harmful to fish and invertebrates, into macromolecules of nitrogen and oxygen, which are inoffensive to the aquarium, using a catalysing plate that ionises them, something that no other conventional filter can do.

How does it work?

We’ll explain how the Hydra filter works over its stages:

A. Hydro-Pure Technology

Stage 1: 

Water enters the aquarium: ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, organic nutrients and other waste.

Stage 2:  

In the special reaction chamber, a 5mA current passes through the titanium plates.The special “Cata-Pure” charge increases the effect of the hydroxyl ions, which react with the nitrogenated compounds and other waste.

Stage 3:

Clean water is obtained.

B. Anaerobic Chamber

An anaerobic filtering charge (not included) can be added to reduce nitrate levels.

C. Biological and Mechanical Filtering

A Premium filtering Foamex is used to trap any waste suspended in the water. Hydra Stream Filter

Can be used as an internal or external filter, on the sump, with ceramic filters and in ponds with the new Hydra-Pure organic technology that instantly reduces nutrient levels that biological filtration cannot eliminate.

What does it consist of?

The Hydra Stream filter provides versatility and power to Hydra-Pure technology. The Hydra Stream filter uses the same Hydra-Pure system as the Hydra filter, organic and risk-free technology that instantly reduces levels of toxic agents (ammonia, nitrites and nitrates) that biological filtration is unable to eliminate.The Hydra Stream filter is recommended for large fresh and salt water aquariums and ponds. A pump or filter is required for it to work properly and can be adapted to the system used, as it can be used as an internal or external filter, on the sump and with ceramic filters.
